Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Service Description
Organism is a shared space for couples to record conversations, capture ideas, store documents, forward emails, and build a shared knowledge base. By creating an account or using this service, you agree to these terms.
2. Account Registration
To use Organism, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You may optionally provide a display name.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate information during registration.
- You may not create accounts for others without their consent.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
3. Content & Recordings
Organism allows you to create, store, and organize content including recordings, notes, documents, and emails. By using these features, you acknowledge the following:
- Audio is captured in your browser and sent to OpenAI's Whisper API for transcription. Audio is not stored on our servers.
- Transcripts, notes, and email content are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption and stored in your account.
- Content is processed by OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini) for features such as title generation, tagging, action item extraction, date extraction, and optional summarization. OpenAI does not store this data or use it for model training per their API data usage policy.
- You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the consent of all participants before recording any conversation. Recording without consent may violate applicable laws.
- You retain ownership of all content you create or upload. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
- Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, environmental conditions, and third-party API availability.
4. Shared Spaces & Partnerships
Organism lets you invite a partner to share a space. By using the partnership feature:
- You can invite one partner by email to join your shared space.
- Content within a shared space is accessible to both partners. You should only share a space with someone you trust.
- Either partner can transfer ownership of individual content items to the other.
- You are responsible for the content you add to a shared space and for ensuring you have the right to share it.
5. Document Uploads
You can upload files to your library including PDFs, Word documents, images, plain text, CSV, and Markdown files. Uploaded files are stored securely in Supabase Storage. Text extracted from uploaded documents is encrypted and stored as content in your account.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and store any files you add to Organism. Do not upload files containing sensitive personal data of others without their consent.
6. Inbound Email
You can forward emails to your personal Organism inbox address to save them in your library. Forwarded emails are processed, encrypted, and stored as content items. By forwarding emails to Organism, you confirm that you have the right to store that content and that it does not violate the privacy of others.
7. AI Features
Organism uses AI (powered by OpenAI) to enhance your content:
- Chat — you can ask questions about your content library. Your messages and relevant content are sent to OpenAI to generate responses.
- Action items & dates — key tasks and deadlines are automatically extracted from your content.
- Search — your content is converted into vector embeddings to power semantic search across your library.
- Summaries — optional AI-generated summaries of your recordings and notes.
AI features are provided as-is. Outputs may contain errors and should not be relied upon for critical decisions without verification.
8. User-Generated Content
You may optionally provide feedback or submit bug reports. By submitting feedback or bug reports, you grant us the right to use them internally to inform product development and improve the service. Feedback will not be publicly attributed to you without your explicit consent.
9. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies to support A/B testing and authentication. These cookies help us assign you to a consistent version of the landing page across visits and maintain your signed-in session. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies for ad networks, or any third-party marketing cookies.
We track page views, button clicks, scroll depth, time on page, and feature usage to understand how visitors interact with Organism and to improve the experience. This data is used solely for internal optimization purposes.
10. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account:
- Your profile and account information are permanently removed.
- All your content (recordings, notes, documents, emails) is deleted.
- Your partnership and shared space memberships are removed.
- This action is irreversible.
11. No Warranties
This service and all associated features are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, feature availability, transcription accuracy, or AI output quality.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
